This page provides an in-depth look at the work that went into creating SSF, from the grotesque, self-playing instrument creatures (known as Harmnivores) to the lead character, The Pallid Harmonist, and the atmospheric environment they inhabit.

Each section delves into the design process and conceptual development, offering a comprehensive view of the project. Select a category below to explore the details further.

The Pallid Harmonist

The Pallid Harmonist is a figure born from a rigid society that stifles creativity. Once a promising musician, she failed to conform to the state’s strict musical expectations. Her pale complexion and worn marching uniform reflect the emotional toll of her failure. Driven by a deep connection to forbidden music, she becomes the leader of the dissonant creatures, embodying both defiance and a longing for freedom.
