- or Oculus Percussus, is one of the eerie, otherworldly creatures from Symphony of Steel and Flesh. It is a drum-like entity with a grotesque, organic design. Lacking arms, a long, sinewy tongue extends from its mouth, used to beat the tumor like growth of a drum attached to the side of its head, adding to its unsettling appearance. Despite its putrid form, Beater, like the other musical creatures, is neutral in nature, thriving off music rather than malice. Its presence represents the raw, untamed power of sound and rhythm, embodying the fusion of organic life and musical function central to the project’s themes.
